Aldo Tura pieces are so very stylish, classic and chic. This gorgeous table lighter and ashtray with brass detail is timeless and would look absolutely fantastic on a coffee table or console. The grey goatskin color is lovely and would easily match any interior.
Aldo Tura started designing and manufacturing his furniture in the 1930s. His work is signified by the combination of free, uninhibited forms, exeptional fancy and great ironi. His work is also an example of highest craftsmanship, often produced in a restricted number, sometimes limited to a prototype.
In the 50′s, Tura discovered the suggestive charm of hand painted sitting rooms furniture with architectural views or Venetian landscapes. He also reached particular aesthetic results thanks to deliberately enlarged odd forms such as a pipe or a bar cabinet seen as an enormous cup, covered with the most unthought of parchment.
Due to his outstanding skill as a craftsman and artist, he experimented with a wide range of unusual materials including egg shell, parchment, leather and wood veneering. Tura’s ambition was to create aesthetic pieces of furniture which had natural and unrestrained shapes.
Tura’s works are coveted by designers and his pieces are true collectors items. J’adore.
