I love all things Aldo Tura and his pieces are extremely sought after. This gorgeous mini blue goatskin bucket with tongs is very rare (normally you see the larger ones). The blue coloration is amazing and very unique. It has lovely brass detail and would add the perfect pop of color to your bar. Tres chic!
I have sold several Aldo Tura pieces as you can see on my site-I’m a major fan. All of Aldo Tura’s pieces are very collectible and always increasing in value. Recently however, these pieces have increased even more thanks to tyle influencers like Jenna Lyons of J Crew showcasing Tura’s designs.
Aldo Tura started designing and manufacturing his furniture in the 1930s. His work is signified by the combination of free, uninhibited forms, exeptional fancy and great ironi. His work is also an example of highest craftsmanship, often produced in a restricted number, sometimes limited to a prototype.
In the 50’s, Tura discovered the suggestive charm of hand painted sitting rooms furniture with architectural views or Venetian landscapes. He also reached particular aesthetic results thanks to deliberately enlarged odd forms such as a pipe or a bar cabinet seen as an enormous cup, covered with the most unthought of parchment.
Due to his outstanding skill as a craftsman and artist, he experimented with a wide range of unusual materials including egg shell, goat skin, parchment, leather and wood veneering. Tura’s ambition was to create aesthetic pieces of furniture which had natural and unrestrained shapes.
Tura’s works are coveted by designers and his pieces are true collectors items. I highly recommend every home should at least have one chic piece by Aldo Tura
