I love all things Aldo Tura and his pieces are extremely sought after. This gorgeous lacquered goatskin and brass bar cart is in pristine condition and signed. The neurtral deep, rich brown coloration is chic and glamorous and would easily match with most interiors. It has lovely brass detail with large wheels and the perfect spots for your bottles and glassware. A showpiece of a bar!
I have sold several Aldo Tura pieces as you can see on my site-I’m a major fan. All of Aldo Tura’s pieces are very collectible and always increasing in value which males these items the perfect investment. Recently, his pieces have increased in value even more thanks to style makers like Jenna Lyons of J. Crew, showcasing his designs.
Aldo Tura started designing and manufacturing his furniture in the 1930s. His work is signified by the combination of free, uninhibited forms, exeptional fancy and great ironi. His work is also an example of highest craftsmanship, often produced in a restricted number, sometimes limited to a prototype.
In the 50’s, Tura discovered the suggestive charm of hand painted sitting rooms furniture with architectural views or Venetian landscapes. He also reached particular aesthetic results thanks to deliberately enlarged odd forms such as a pipe or a bar cabinet seen as an enormous cup, covered with the most unthought of parchment.
Due to his outstanding skill as a craftsman and artist, he experimented with a wide range of unusual materials including egg shell, goat skin, parchment, leather and wood veneering. Tura’s ambition was to create aesthetic pieces of furniture which had natural and unrestrained shapes.
Tura’s works are coveted by designers and his pieces are true collectors items. I highly recommend every home should at least have one chic piece by Aldo Tura.
