Aqua Segusso Murano Bubble Bowl c 1960

I have a lot of Murano glass and I love putting different groups of matching colors in different rooms to add color, light and texture to a space. This is a gorgeous coloured bubble bowl. Its a wonderful neutral tone that would match most interiors and be beautiful displayed on your favorite table.

It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291.
