This is a fabulous masculine square design. It has a wonderful smokey grey tone that would go with any interior. Its size is perfect for anywhere but I love the idea of it next to bed for a pop of grey or on a dresser for a statement.
Venice was a port town as early as the 7th century. It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291. Murano’s glassmakers were so valuable that leaving the area was punishable by death.
