Gold Murano Sommerso bowl c 1960

This bowl is stunning! I love decorating with glass. When I saw this gorgeous multi-faceted diamond bowl, I had to have it. Its one of the best looking pieces of glass I have purchased-a true showpiece.

Its rich, deep gleam adds the perfect light and depth to your space. Its color is an elegant rich gold neutral tone that would match any interiors. It would be perfect diplayed on your favorite table as a showpiece.

It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291.
