Large Amber Geometric Shaped Murano Glass Bowl

I love this five sided dramatic amber bowl with a hint of deep burgundy-its very sexy! (It shows in the photos to be more burgundy than it actually is-much more gold in person) The sides are shar and very highly polished which I love. I also have a smaller version in a gold and amber tone that is the perfect companion piece to make a bold statement in an entryway or coffee table. Either sepetately or together they are showstoppers.

This neutral tone perfectly matches any interior-I love mixing in warm gold tones into my spaces-it always add that extra unexpected layer. It is also signed by the artist.

Venice was a port town as early as the 7th century. It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291. Murano’s glassmakers were so valuable that leaving the area was punishable by death.
