Mandruzzato Somersso Double Faceted Murano Bowl c. 1970

This is a beautiful smoky Topaz and Amber colored multi faceted bowl. I love its deep hue combined with clear crystal glass and dark jewlel tones-stunning! Its a great size and would easily fit any decor and be very glamorous on your favorite table as a chic display piece.

It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291.
