Rare Syrocco Barman Bottle Opener c 1940

I love this guy. I saw him years ago in a wonderful design book by Jan Showers and never forgot him. Imagine my surprise when years later, I find him at store in NYC. I was beyond thrilled.

He is made of Syrocco wood which is a molded material created in the 1890’s by the Syracuse Ornamental Company which made many covetted ashtrays and corkscrews. He is circa 1940 and still bears the Syracuse Ornamental stamp on the bottom. Let this enchanting 1940’s barman be the highlight of your fashionable bar.

Syrocco items are very covetable and always increasing in value because of their unique, whimsical designs.
