I love this small version as wel as the larger version of this dramatic design we have in stock…both in rich amber and gold tones and bold shapes. This item is signed by the artist as well.
Its highly polished five sides and neutral gold color make it the perfect piece for your chic entryway, coffee table or bedside vignette. Its really a beautiful piece.
Venice was a port town as early as the 7th century. It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291. Murano’s glassmakers were so valuable that leaving the area was punishable by death.
