Vintage Gold and White Segusso Murano Bubble Bowl c 1960’s

I love using Murano glass in decor but I had never seen WHITE AND GOLD until I laid eyes on this glamorous piece. It has 23 carat gold flecks inside which create a gorgeous metalic gleam. Unique piece.

I love putting different groups of matching colors in different rooms to add color, light and texture to a space. This is a gorgeous coloured bubble bowl and its wonderful neutral tone  would match most interiors.

It is believed that glassmaking in Murano originated in 8th century Rome, with significant Asian and Muslim influences, as Venice was a major trading port. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291.
